Rüsselsheim. The experts of Bähr & Fess Forecasts have elected the residual value giants 2019. Current new cars set to lose the least value over a four-year period are included in the list. The Opel KARL managed to secure first place in the mini-car segment. The KARL, which offers space for up to five adults and sufficient luggage space, will still be worth an impressive 54 percent of its original value after four years. Furthermore, the new Opel Astra, which has only just made its dealership debut, secured a place on the podium from a standing start: The athlete with its outstanding usage of space and technology features previously only available in the luxury class finished second in the compact car segment. According to the Bähr & Fess prediction, a four-year old Astra with a 1.4-liter turbo will still be worth 53.5 percent of its original value.

“Buying a new Opel is a good investment for every one of our customers. The prediction for KARL and Astra is further proof. Our dealers can also be delighted with such stable residual values, as it ensures that both parties can be happy when a leasing deal comes to an end for example,” said Jürgen Keller, Executive Director Sales, Marketing & Aftersales Germany. Earlier this year the Schwacke analysts already predicted outstanding residual values for the Opel ADAM and Zafira Tourer. Both Opel models took first place in their respective categories and secured “Value Champion 2015” titles.
